Pushing the limit? He was born and raised in the Oz outback. He had been doing this kinda stuff since he was knee high, it was like the "family business." I have grown up watching his shows. Watching him grab a 7 foot Black Mamba with his bare hands and a stick, or hop on the back of a 15 foot croc just left me speechless. In my eyes he almost seemed invincable in the way he would handle the most deadly creatures on the planet, and it seems impossible to believe that he is gone. Well, from what's being said about the incident it seems that he died almost instantly after pulling out the barb, which can be either good or contrary in that he died quick and painless, although HE probably would have preferred to go out while wrestling a huge croc or Puff Adder or something. Anyway, just goes to show us that no one is invincable, and that you'd better live life to the fullest because you're gonna be dead for a Looooong Time. My heart goes out to his wife and two kids who will have to grow up without a father. But in his death he has now become legend and will be the standard to which all others that come after him will be compared, and none will fill his boots & Khakis.
RIP Mate, that one definatly WAS a "rippa." You are one of a kind, the real croc hunter dundee.
Damm, now Jeff Corwin will have to grow some balls
