This was during the Hobart's visit to Japan for the Japanese navy celebrations, which is at the same time and base as China's DDG 131 Taiyuan's visit. This is a shot of the Hobart's mast, showing the USG-3 CEC array at the top, followed by a ring of IFF, and then the SPQ-9B X-band radar. The SPG-62 target illumination antennas are at the bottom.

Using remote sensor data from U.S Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Stockdale, HMAS Brisbane completed a live missile engagement via the CEC off California. This was a first for the RAN. The event tested the combat system against a range of challenging targets and tactical situations.

Royal Australian Navy's shortfin barracuda class submarine will be the most technologically advanced and stealthy non-nuclear powered submarine ever produced any country. In terms of propulsion system, it will on par with the US and UK, obviously France as well.
