Can we start a Chinese IT industry thread? I think we can have some good discussions. I also have a couple of questions, recently Cloudflare banned kiwifarms, after previously banning storefront and 8chan. Wayback machine also deleted kiwifarms stuff. I remember Wayback machine also deleting news about biden laptop and election fraud during the election. During the war in Russia, RT and other russian websites was DDOSed and finally came back with russian company DDOS-guard. These companies provide a critical service, especially in modern information warfare age.

I'm wondering does China have any major CDN/ddos protection companies and does China have archive sites like wayback machine or archive.ph .
That would be a really interesting thread, in my professional life i work with the Microsoft azure cloud services and every once in a while i go to their planetary view of their cloud infrastructure and i'm always amazed how a company could gather that much infrastructure globally.
I have seen the same kind of overview from google and AWS.

It kind of makes me wonder how far a long are Chinese cloud provider, never have i seen an Alibaba or a Huawei cloud engineer here in Europe for example or on linkedin.

This is the azure infrastructure site i'm talking about.

I'm fairly certain Huawei and Alibaba have cloud servers on every continent, but probably not as much as AWS, Google and Microsoft.

Hey I have a quick question, is there a place in SDF forum to appeal for browser ban?

I just came back from vacation and then find my main brower (firefox) is banned by SDF:
"The owner of this website (www.sinodefenceforum.com) has banned your access based on your browser's signature"

I have no idea what happened since I didn't even log on the forum in past day. Just wondering where can I contact forum manager to understand the situation or to unban my browser?

Thanks!

Are there any data driven economist people over here?

Let's say if someone wants to get all sorts of public and free(?) export/import and production data for a country where does one go to get that sort of data? Do these sources also have an api one can use to automate data queries to generate my own dataset?

It's for a private hobby project so i can tinker with all sorts of software development technologies.

Edit: this is what found some time ago just wondering which data sources are more used.

A country's statistics department website could be a source. I doubt any country provides API for that though.

Is there any equivalent compilation of PLA ground equipment website like Huitong's blog on PLA aviation?

That's a good suggestion if the information is worth it and big enough I have no issues creating a web page scrapping tool. As long as the html is a not a huge cluster fuck:)

What are the major pro-China think tanks out there for referencing policy papers on international relations? It can be both China-based or based in the west with a pro-China stance.
