Note that once again we see 986 Simingshan along in HDZ along with the 2nd and 3rd Type 075. Not going to repost what is on the 075 thread. I am wondering where is the 8th 071?

If the 071s are named after mountains, would the 075s be named after mountains or mountain ranges?

Hello bandits. This may be wrong thread, but for what this crane needed? In the Soviet Kuznetsov-class, this crane needed for load ASM's on the carrier, but for what purposes this crane on the 002?

I'm getting impatient. why aren't they building new destroyers anymore. work as stopped for like 6 months now. surely they are not stopping at only 8 055 DDGs?

My guess is they wanted to evaluate the performance of the Type 055 before building more of them.
It might also be the next batch will have some design changes.

There are already over 30 of the Type-052D and Type-052C.

Looking at other naval programmes, 30 seems to be the desired minimal size for a ship production run, before you want to consider a new specialized variant or class.

Previous programmes that come to mind are the Spruances, Ticonderogas, Zumwalts, Type-054, Type-053.
