Among other applications, scrutinizing procurement irregularities.

AI-enhanced tools should be used to flag irregularities in tender and bidding documents, supervise review committees' decisions, and have "human-like" reasoning ability to generate recommendations, China's National Development and Reform Commission and seven other agencies said. The systems should "dig for clues to suspected bid-rigging and provide a reference for relevant authorities enforcing discipline and laws," they said.

An anti-graft watchdog in the province of Zhejiang detained a state-owned asset administrator in January 2025 after AI flagged potential misconduct in several public projects' tendering processes, state broadcaster CCTV said in a documentary series highlighting corrupt officials last month. The administrator, Feng Jiang, was found to have accepted hundreds of thousands of yuan in bribes from bidders to act as a middleman to pay off members of tender review committees, CCTV said. "There are too many tenders and bids, and it is impossible for us to look at every project," Wang Rongfei, a local anti-graft agency staffer, was quoted by the broadcaster as saying. "The strength of big data is that it can provide us with useful leads, and, once we have a lead, we can follow it step by step and unravel the case bit by bit," he added. Feng was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison by a court in November, CCTV said.

Seeing the Seedance videos on social media, its quite scary. Like of course they're not perfect, each of them have little quirks that let you know they're still AI generated. But compared to Sora 2 videos that are rather static despite their life like appearance, the videos coming out of Seedance 2.0 are legit cinematic quality. The rate at which this technology is progressing, we'll be seeing a new dimension to China's vertical drama craze as soon you won't even need camera crews, just people with an internet connection and wild imaginations. Entertainment is about to become democratized, with AI now giving people without access to film and animation school, or expensive cameras and animation software, the means to create narrative art and essentially doing to that field what YouTube did to the music industry.

I guess this means too now that while the West remains dominant in LLM's, China has essentially pulled ahead in video generation.

karminski-牙医:
Tomorrow is a big day for domestic LLM manufacturers. All domestic manufacturers' flagship models have evolved from bi-monthly updates to monthly updates.

Except for the Whale. Nobody knows when the Whale will surface.

In the comments section some guy mentioned that DeepSeek is also undergoing A/B testing and updated to one million context window

update: Yes, confirmed the 1M context and database updated to date as of May 2025. But the model doesn't know its specific version, might be intentional.

generation speed is very fast, but I didn't feel big improvement in reasoning ability; some people reported it was even worse. It might just be the previously rumored 200B version.

Karminski initially tested the coding ability has improved a lot. So, is this a code enhanced version? This aligns with previous rumors, given that most models are now making money through code generation.

My thread on SeeDance 2.0 which is causing huge waves in China's video, ads and content generation industry in China already. This has gone mainstream with many people expecting domestic companies to use AI to do their production.

ByteDance also has been reported to develop an AI chip for production by Samsung. 100 to 350k this year expected. Who knows, but they certain need a whole lots of chips for all the tokens that need to be generated. Up to 1B per drama episode. That's a lot of tokens.

As for DeepSeek, it looks like they did change something. Although, let's wait to see if it is in fact 4.0. I'm not going to waste my time testing it out until they confirm it.

China will be the first to do it.

Also, the new Deepseek update is…. Interesting.

seems like it's some kind of lite version. I haven't even bothered testing with it. I tried GLM-5, which they claim to be SOTA, hasn't been better than Kimi 2.5 in my testing so far.

K2.5 for me has been the best model for a month now.
