Anthropic is going broke, and with Kimi K2 Thinking that was final nail in coffin

American AI is a sinking ship.

The Americans thought that their AI will let them dominate the world for generations.

That idea lasted not even one NFL football season.

No one wants to pay when they can get it free. Furthermore those free Chinese models are now running neck to neck in this so-called race.

It is probably over, but they invested too much to throw in the towel.

That is why those big tech companies in America want to be hyper-scalers. Someone will still be running an AI program in America, just they only paying for compute resources and not for the AI software.

America is still a free country. They are allowed to download anything. That is freedom.

I think it's pretty clear there is a coordinated campaign in recent days to boost US AI labs and torpedo Chinese AI labs in the aftermath of the OpenAI attempts to already ask for bailout & Anthropic seeing Kimi K2 coming out. Qwen AI apps is scaring people in the SV leadership circle.

Good.

That is really all I have to say and want to say.

The Chinese put 100% effort into their free open-source models.

The American put 100% effort into their proprietary and closed models.

There is still a marketplace for ideas in the globalized world. We see whose idea will be more appealing to the unwashed masses.

Aravind's "China AI bad" takes are not enough to win him fans or keep him in business . He has to ship great products

These geeks are awful.

You know, I consider myself a geek too. It takes one to know one, and this guy is shit.

If he can download those lines of code, then tweak the code after reading the material DeepSeek published, I mean, who needs you?

This is what is going on, in my hard ass ruthless old person opinion.

Too many of these geeks riding this AI gravy train, saw the allure of big easy money. That was what they were all about.

Now, as the young people say today, then came the rug pull, with DeepSeek the Cantonese geek guy who was a Guangdong superhero, totally derailed American geek and Indian-American geek plan of infinite wealth.

Those AI geeks in America all thought they were going to be as rich as Elon.

But no. The DeepSeek shock.

Now they are just clinging onto to their perverted dreams.

Good. Fuck them.

Is openAI going bankrupt soon? The AI stock trade is now a ponzi scheme being propped up by only nvidia.

To be honest, (as a Chinese), I'm worried that although US AI companies like OpenAI and xAI can only get revenues like 3-10 billions of dollars which are quite small compared to the investment of around 100 billions of dollars, but as long as US AI companies can present SOTA model which China AI companies have to spend around 1-3 months to catch up, the investment from all over the world will continously flow into US.

No. There's too many moneyed interests to keep it going. A general AI bubble pop would probably completely kaput the company though.
Passing fine tuned Deepseek as an American contribution to open weight models .. lmfao

Somebody needs to tell them that Perplexity already runs a Deepseek 1776 model.
