AK-630 don't have enough place if you have a patrol boat like this one..

an ak-630 distributes weight. its ammo, gun, and sensors are all in different parts of the ship, so the ship wont lean to one end. an big, tall phalanx intergrates its systems together(which is a good thing too). so a small ship will be kind of heavier to the top.

btw, what kind of ship is that?

it's a isrealis saar 4-5 patrol boat armed with 8 US Harpoon, 1 OTO Melara 76mm L/62, 1 Phalanx,1 twin or quad .50 MG, 2 oerlikon 20mm and 1 Isrealis Industries Barak 1 SAM VLS, max speed of 31 knots, 488 tons,

well this one is actually smaller than saar class...shame to those who didn't know this important shipclass by it's looks...this kind of stuff is basic level knowlidge that should be if taking part of naval discussion...
