You need electric fencing. :p

Though I do wonder how she will react if you use the same excuse to tresspass her house. Alot of peoples - their standards only apply to others.

I was thinking of razor wire but I found out only commercial porperties are allowed to put up such fencing materials. She has three dogs so getting on her property would be a different matter. Plus she rents. I've found out people who rent in my neighborhood tend not to care about other people's property rights. I was thinking of getting a guard dog before she moved in. But now I would think she would use my dog as an excuse to go on my property. She thought the cat she was hearing in distress was mine meaning she must thought I was abusing my own cat.

Perhaps an exotic pet might be in order, say, a wolverine or honey badger. She'll only investigate them weird animal noises once...;)

I'm sure I would get a lot more scrutiny if it were the other way around. My sister has a property she uses as storage. She bought a motion sensor device that will trigger an electronic dog barking from inside. At first I thought that wouldn't work but ever watch the big bad criminal types... they're even afraid of a small dog charging at them. It worked to the point some people report to the police and animal welfare that a dog is being neglected.

I just had an experience with a new neighbor who's apparently an animal lover. I can probably report her to the authorities for how many pets she has. She heard a cat crying in distress. My neighborhood has a lot of feral cats running around so somehow she comes to the conclusion that the cat is trapped under my house. No one wasn't home at the time so because of that she thought she could climb over the fence onto my property with her entire family to look for this cat. The only entrance underneath my house is this crawl space that had a broken door so I had years ago barricaded it with some extra wood I had lying around and put a large piece of concrete up against it to make sure none of these feral cats, raccoons, and even rats got in there to invade my home. But somehow this woman thought the cat got through all that to get in but somehow unable to get out. Her family couldn't move the concrete slab I had buttressed against it but somehow that cat she thinks is trapped underneath my house was able to. So what did they do? They broke a hole in the wood big enough for the cat could get out. She couldn't wait until I got home? I was only gone for three hours at most. Her excuse was she thought I was on vacation so because an animal she only heard somewhere was crying, she thought she could trespass onto my property and break through some wood for a cat she can only assumed without evidence was underneath my house. Not to mention she left my house vulnerable to cats getting underneath my house or raccoons and rats. I know some of you are going to suggest I call the police. I already know they're not going to do anything because nothing serious happened. I've seen the police stop someone who broke into cars in the neighborhood and let him go to do it again later knowing he was the one who did it. It's just not a serious crime to them enough to trouble the system. I love how these people who hide behind animals think they have police authority like when they can break into a home if they believe a life is in danger but with animals instead. And of course there was no cat underneath my house.

Ask her to pay for the damage to your barricade, get her to sign something that recounts her actions.

If you don't think she'd sign anything, get a small voice recorder, and ask her to recount what had happened, so that you can "make the proper repairs".

Once you have proof that she trespassed onto your property, sue her for trespassing.

It's not worth it. It was scrap wood. I got the idea and I've encountered these types before that she will do anything for animals. I had to spell it out to her that I have no pets just in case she thinks she has to rescue an animal and try to break into my house. She could be just nosy and using animals as an excuse. It's so bizarre that it does make me wonder if she thinks I was stir fying up some cats. I have heard racists claim that the Asians on their block are killing and eating cats because they hear cats screeching in their neighborhood. I heard feral cats make horrible noises in my backyard all the time. Some sound like babies crying. Maybe I'm stir frying some babies too.

I think the cats are just in heat and making calls. And your neighbour cannot be in a position to judge what is right for the cats if she cannot even distinguish that.

Since she supposedly has nine cats of her own, you'd figure she would know that. That's why I'm suspicious of her motives. I was talking to her the next day after I had to crawl under my house to check to see if she didn't let in any other animal. I was civil to her but I can tell she knew I didn't like her going on my property without permission. She even brought up how her kids were upset at hearing the cat in distress. The hide behind the children excuse. So I'll see if she or her family goes in my yard again. Then I'll know it ain't about cats.

I'm kinda of attached to dogs personally in one way or another, presumable 'cause I once had a dog which appeared to be smart and adorable.

for me, I couldn't bear the thought of eating dogs. but just because my aversion to dog eating doesn't necessary mean i'm in a position to justifiably criticize other people. I was annoyed once during a treat by my college friend, someone ordered soup with dog meat w/o prior notification of me. It would be safe for someone to say in advance that there would be some meat which quite a few people may refuse to eat.

my point here is that one should just respect other people's cultural traditions or eating habbits. I once encountered a man eating porks(previously bought) in a muslim restaurant which resulted in bitter quarrel. that man just appeared to be such a godamn asshole.

another things should be noted is that: since where there is a demand, there is a market. some bad guys are just hunting stray dogs or even pet dogs for restaurant use(with poisons or possible anaesthetic shot by guns).

when it comes to the abovementioned two scenarios, that's where i draw the line.

Actually nobody (vegans in particular) is in a position to denounce those dog-eating (or sth like that) people on possible grounds like: dogs/cats appear to be more intelligent or loyal to human beings.
