USMC ALERT! MORE (US) F35BS DUE SOON - 18 OCT 19
A USMC CH53 arrives on R08 HMS QE off the S. Carolina Coast on 18 Oct bringing key USMC Trials related personnel on board in readiness for the imminent embarkation of their F35Bs.
The pilot of this CH53 clearly not prone to conventional deck landing SOP but it makes a nice pic not nonetheless.
In this pic can be seen 3 of the 4 British Lightnings already embarked.

What's interesting about these photos are that they are an American Perspective on board. An indicator of things to come perhaps. We now have a photo of F35B with HMS Northumberland in the back ground as well. ZM148 (014) getting some exercise.

In the short term certainly. That's never been a secret, it's stated Government policy. In their turn the USMC are looking to exploit the full potential of their F-35Bs above and beyond being mud movers aboard the 'Gator' fleet. It's mutually beneficial, we won't be forming our second frontline F-35B sqn until 2023 (809NAS) so we have to fil. the decks somehow, and the leathernecks are only too happy to oblige.
