What is the current schedule for the USMC JSF aircraft to be deployed to the RN Carriers?

Will the QE get them first, or the POW? What date are they planning on?

Either for USMC aircraft, or the RN aircraft that are steadily building (I believe you guys currently have taken delivery of eight aircraft) up their numbers?

For those interested...I am proceeding with my build of the CVN-80 USS Enterprise, converting the Nimitz Trumpeter model into the Ford class.

I am making good headway on the aft end where a lot of the major work is. The island is another area.

The deck in this picture is not glued down because I have not detailed the hanger yet and put the lighting in there...which will take several weeks of work...but I am making progress on the big aft end of the lady.

In addition, though I do not have the decals and US Navy marking on the aircraft yet, I have completed the airwing, and here's how that is going to look on the deck once I get it all put together:

It's going to be a mix of 5th and 6th gen aircraft representing a mid to late-2030s airwing.

I will be getting a 3-D print of the Island soon and then detailing that from there...but while I wait, I will be starting on the hanger and making it look a lot like the Ronald Reagan hanger I did before.
Well done your in full business  and good to see some news :)
Nice the little yellow pig LOL

At present I don't expect to see any operational deployment of Lightnings of any flavour before 2020. Flight trials are scheduled for next Autumn/Fall when Liz will sail for the US Eastern Sea Board (look forward to a few port visits then) where she will embark two F-35Bs for four weeks of testing. 617 sqn will stand up next year as well, and after working up through 2019 will be available for deployment in 2020.

The second phase of at sea F-35B trials are also scheduled for late 2019, and under current plans QE will be in dock for maintenance, so PoW will be at sea to conduct these trials, assuming no problems in the meantime. QE's IOC will occur in time for overseas deployment in 2020, which I expect will involve a joint US/UK air group.

Three U.S. carrier strike groups are now operating in U.S. 7th Fleet, after the strike group previously tasked with conducting air strikes against ISIS targets in Syria and Iraq has left the Persian Gulf en route to the Western Pacific, according to a statement from the Navy.

Carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and its escorts left U.S. 5th Fleet on Wednesday and are homeward bound for Naval Station Bremerton, Wash. The carrier left for its deployment on June 1, and the strike group began anti-ISIS operations on Aug. 1.

Meanwhile, the San Diego-based Theodore Roosevelt Strike Group entered 7th Fleet on Monday. The strike group left its homeport earlier this month.

“Entering 7th Fleet is an exciting opportunity to integrate with other U.S. Navy units in the [area of operations], as well as operate with our partners and allies in the region,” Rear Adm. Steve Koehler, commander of Carrier Strike Group 9 embarked on USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), said in a Navy statement.

The forward-deployed carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) and its escorts are operating near South Korea and could conduct operations with the Roosevelt strike group in the near future,

It’s unclear if the positioning of the three carriers in the region coincides with President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Asia in early November.

arrived in the Pacific on Tuesday, marking an exceedingly rare occurrence: three carriers and their attached strike groups operating together in the same region of the world.

The carrier convergence comes amid intensifying threats from North Korea and other moves from the Pentagon indicating preparations for a decisive military response.

The Nimitz entered the 7th Fleet area of operations following operations in support of the fight against the Islamic State in the Middle East. Since July 25, the Nimitz launched 1,322 sorties and dropped 903 pieces of ordnance, according to a news release from the 7th Fleet.

The Nimitz joins the carriers Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan in the Pacific. The Roosevelt entered the Pacific on Monday, and is eventually expected to take the place of the Nimitz in the 5th Fleet area of operations, covering the Middle East.

reported Roosevelt's arrival marked the first time since the 1990s that two carriers had been together near the Korean peninsula.

7th Fleet officials said the Nimitz strike group is next scheduled for a port visit, but would remain ready to support operations throughout the Pacific before returning to homeport.

Rear Adm. Gregory Harris, commander of Carrier Strike Group 11, said in a statement that the strike group had demonstrated dedication and commitment during its three-month airstrike mission in the Middle East.

"They performed flawlessly in extremely austere conditions, maintaining an incredible spirit that was awe-inspiring," he said. "I am eager to see what this team does in the next phase of our journey and welcome the opportunity to serve with such a fine group of sailors and

Rhetoric has also been escalating. On Monday, Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera called the threat posed by North Korea "unprecedented, critical and imminent."

in calendar year 2017, most recently firing two missiles that flew over Japan on Aug. 29 and Sept. 15.

On July 4, North Korea test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Military leaders, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford, have said publicly that the United States should assume North Korea has nuclear weapon capability and is willing to use it.
