yeah i agree with that. But even the russians aren't that desperate to sell china their most important stragetic bombers. Plus it's sort of politicial suicide for Russia.
Well, more money and improve the trade between Russia and China will help.
You know that indians are getting better stuff, however india-Russia trade is at a pittyful 2 billion dollars. Sino-Russia trade is 30 billion$$$. So as we improve the relationships then things will change. We can get better stuffs.
However, if the Russians still dont sell, then just build our own. Cause it is better to make our own than buying crappy stuffs.:china:

Since you said that it's crappy stuff, why suggested to buy it? To me, just build your own stuff, but China is having problem in building big birds. Another problem is that the sky nowaday doesn't belong to big birds any more, we need small (or medium) aircraft but agile and steathy rather an big stupid elephant.
No, I am saying that the Tu-23 is crappy. NOT Tu-160. Read my post carefully. Russia still have some good stuffs.
Well, the Tu-160 is really expensive, and I think maintanance will be so, too.
Upgraded H-6s (new engiens, moderns avonics/sensors) with modern CMs will be a good platfporm for the PLAAF for quiet some time. A few (strategic) prestige-projects won't solve PLAAFs big scale modernization problems.
