So true SinoForce. Just goes to show you no naval engineer designed the ship. Passageways(hallways) are need on the port and starboard side of the ship for free movement. The way those launchers are positioned movement would be hindered on the main deck and second deck because there would be only one passageway to the bow on the second deck and amidships..

Not just that: normally the hull of cruisers are curved, concave down, so it is really not possible to put the VLS there.

And also, 2 CIWS? Seems a little on the short side, oversized bow IMO.

I see four CIWS. Two CIWS guns, with two CIWS PLAN-RAMs, one behind each gun.

Anyhow, I believe this is not an actual design. Something larger and improved may well be in the works for the PLAN over the 52C...and I expect an improved design is. But I do not believe this is it. We shall see.

I think that the PRC may purchase the Slava-class cruiser Ukraina. I believe it is being completed and marketed to India and the PRC for potential sale. Perhaps it would be used as a base on which to design an indigenous cruiser. If the PRC does acquire cruisers, I do not think they will purchas or build large quantities of them, although I think they will be armed and equipped with a true cruiser role in mind.

cruisers are pointless if you don't have the weapon platform what needs it size. what are you gonna put on it? AA, AS, ASh?
