A blockade of Hormuz makes no sense, Iran has ports and an oil terminal in the gulf of Oman plus plenty of oil stored on tankers near China. For Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq this is a disaster. For Saudi Arabia too, if the red sea gets blockaded by Yemen. They need essential food imports through Hormuz

The US is a net crude importer by roughly 2 million barrels per day because their refineries are not built for their own type of domestic crude. They call themselves a net exporter but that is only under the category of crude oil and petroleum products. This is the end of Trump’s Presidency as he has boxed himself in with the zero reverse gear warmonger policy.
