Now there is negotiation.

So what is the actual Iranian position?

Here.
A senior Iranian official tells Drop Site’s Jeremy Scahill and Murtaza Husssin: “There aren’t any negotiations taking place. The Iranian side has simply communicated its conditions to [the U.S.] and even that has been done indirectly,” adding that U.S. messages have also only been passed through intermediary countries.
1. A simultaneous ceasefire in Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq, rejecting a limited deal like the 2025 “12-Day War,” which Tehran says was used to buy time for renewed attacks.
2. On missiles, the official said: “Given its defensive nature in countering Israel, this program will continue unchanged and with increased intensity in the event of a ceasefire… The missile program shall not be subject to negotiation under any prospective talks.”
3. On nuclear policy, the official said: “In light of the violations of international law by the United States, as well as Israel’s extensive attacks on nuclear facilities, Iran will formulate a new doctrine,” and that enrichment activities “will continue, either independently or in cooperation with China and Russia.”
4. On reparations: The official added Iran will pursue compensation for damages caused by U.S. and Israeli strikes in any future agreement.

The compensation demand is possible now I think about it. They can just return the frozen Iranian money, and spin it as a free win.
and let Iran collect Toll fees like others do in the world for crossing the strait and built up 'compensation' via that, others would be paying it not US
Pakistan is representing also China’s interests in backdoor diplomacy between Iran and the US, Pakistan represents Irans in the US, they have an Iranian section within the embassy in DC, the chances of getting out of this is raised because the power of Xi is also being added, the Yanks want out, the Israelis are the wildcard they want the war to continue and are doing everything including trying to sabotage the talks, according to Pakistani sources the MSS and the ISI have intel that the Israelis are trying to infiltrate and or may try to harm the Pakistani interlocutors.
True, Pakistani Embassy in US officially hosts Irans.

they did had a call today, Iranian FM has spoken to 6-7 FM's in past 6-7 hours, Turkish, Oman, Russia, Pakistan, Egypt.
Hilarious that the stock market still believes in Trump's word about an imaginary ceasefire. The taco has been saying the war was won since day2 or even 1, the existence of talks since week 1, and somehow is both a war and not a war at the same time.

Even the buffoons on reddit believe in Tehran's word over trump
Investors are mega stupid, everyone was waiting for news to come from Iran to verify whatever trump said, no one should believe him.

Doesnt get any clearer than this

Israeli official said Washington has set April 9 as a target date for ending the war, leaving about 21 days for continued fighting and negotiations.

Nothing fundamentally has changed for Iran’s situation where they need to seek negotiations. And neither do I believe Trump intends to TACO either. Then the US is probably looking for a knockout blow to achieve this deadline, which may be Kharg Island and the shorelines. Maybe these “negotiations” are using the exact same playbook in February. To give a show that they attempted diplomacy (in bad faith) for the media and other countries before starting a new round of escalation.

Reopening the strait has emerged as perhaps the paramount objective of a war
security officials now believe is unlikely to achieve goals that briefly seemed possible at the outset of the U.S.-Israeli military operation, including overthrowing Iran's theocratic regime and putting a nuclear weapon permanently out of Tehran's reach.
Instead, breaking Iran's stranglehold on the strait could enable Trump to wind down the war while claiming victory, halt an expanding global energy crisis and deprive Iran of a potent deterrent against future strikes - which senior Israeli officials described as inevitable if Tehran resumes ballistic missile production or moves to develop a nuclear

Yep. This might end in an epic disaster. Pay close attention to the article words of “deprive Iran of a potent deterrent against future strikes.” If controlling the Straits enables a wind down of the war. How does one prevent Iran from using the Straits of Hormuz again in a future war?

US occupation of Iranian Islands. Maybe even the shorelines.

Good luck selling that to the Iranians as a condition for a ceasefire.

Wouldn't be surprised they will just make a big Libya out of Iran. Destroy a lot of infrastructure in the last weeks and just leave it behind a broken nation.
Comparing Libya to Iran makes no sense, Libya is an extremely tribal society and the government was built around a cult of personality.

In Libya they had a massive terrorist army used as a proxy against the Libyan military and was able to overpower the military.

In Iran to repeat the Libya scenario you would need like a 200k-500k soldier "free Iranian army". They won't be able to build such an army even in their dreams.
In reality the best thing they could manage to get was few thousands of Kurds in Iraq who are ineffective.

The Americans are finding it really hard to understand that Iran is willing to go all the way in this war. Maybe because this mentality doesnt exist in American war philosophy? They just keep thinking there is some other kind of ending other than total eradication of either side. Maybe hollywood has had a big psychological impact on reality?
