So, Kim is going window shopping in person for new toys for his military?

It would be kinda hilarious if Kim and Putin worked out a deal where Russia funnels vast amounts of money into NK under the pretext of compensation for NK troops helping out in Kursk, and Kim buys a load of Chinese military hardware with that cash, and a few months later those new weapons start appearing in Ukraine with ‘North Korea’ crews.

If pressed, the Chinese can just shrug and rightly remind the west that China doesn’t attach strings on its arms sales.

Whatever the case may be, I highly doubt actual Chinese troops will fight in the war under any cover.

I wasn’t suggesting Chinese troops would be going into Ukraine to directly fight, but there is nothing really stopping the Russians sending their own troops into China to get training, and then go operate North Korean purchased Chinese weapons themselves.

But that is mostly tongue in cheek, as I don’t think China wants to escalate with Europe like that just yet. But it is a viable card that China can play basically at any time.

Indeed, it may well decide to approve sales to NK sooner rather than later to develop that card, as it will take a few months at least for NK troops to be sufficient trained up on the new weapons to be even thinking about using them in actual combat.

NK is under UNSC sanctions. Thus far China seems to be trying to at least look compliant.

I suspect after Iran gets hit with the stupid snapback procedure by European countries and also gets UNSC sanctions that China and Russia both will start openly ignoring these sanctions on Iran and NK.
