Stealth fighters are not magic weapons. They are just normal planes with slightly more shaping to deflect away some (NOT ALL) radar waves. They just ensure you are detected at much smaller ranges. Superior tactics, numbers or terrain can and will take down a lot of stealth planes.

The J-10 costs ~$45 million and the F-16 costs ~$65 million. You don't spend 3x less and get equivalent production if your jet is only ~30% cheaper.

The Soviet Union also stated it spent 2.5-3% of its GDP on its military throughout the Cold War.

Also far outstrips the US in procurement of military ground vehicles.

From air defense, rockets, artillery to tanks, ifvs etc.
