Could be it began?

At that point what choice would Iran's leaders have, better to ceasefire and regroup than continued bombing and destruction of the country, they will become libya or syria
This is a very naive way of thinking about war. Iran is a massive country that has been hardening themselves for these kinds of attacks for years. Iran is also mountainous, which means lots of cover. Iran can hide everything underground. Think about the houthis but 100 times stronger. That is Iran.

US bombing will not be able destroy the key weapons and system hidden. They will just do some bombing, get attacked by missiles in return. After a while they have to give up just like they did against the houthis.

Of course US will most likely destroy the nuclear plants. But who knows if Iran has hidden nuclear plants that we don't know about. Ultimately even if Iran's nuclear plants are destroyed, they can rebuild.

The most important thing for Iran is to create deterrence against future attacks from Israel and US. The key to do that is to wreck such a havoc across the middle east that US and Israel is afraid of attacking Iran again. That will be true victory. Let's see if Iran has enough missile arsenal to utterly destroy all US bases in the region.

Trump smelled weakness, he was reluctant to enter a war with Iran because he feared the consequence. Now, not so much

Last chance for Iran to show they have real bite now I think.
If they can restore a little bit of deterrence by doing heavy damage, that'll give Trump pause in intervening.

Unless tonight turns out to be underwhelming...

⚡️- Very small barrage from Iran, no more than 5 projectiles launched. It sounds like only one actually impacted.

- Correction: Not a single Iranian missile impacted. All were intercepted.

⚡️- Home Front Command is now allowing citizens to leave shelters. No new imminent missile threat detected.

Is that the big bad destructive missile barrage they promised

Well If US is joining, all the close bases around GCC states are fair target for them, they could attack those for do havoc.
And I am not sure the houthi thing can be used 1:1 for comparison
For once Intelligence on the ground in the houthi yemen was much lower, they didnt have 'big main targets' like nuclear facilities, While Mossad knows everything to know about Iran, maybe even where surviving leadership is.
While Iran is much bigger, US airforce will have pretty easy time bombing where they want, have giant fireballs, claim victory that they defeated iran or atleast their nuclear ability and exit.
