I suspect it is "about" 30,000 tons full load in the same way that 055 is "10,000 tons"

So in assessing displacement values, we have to consider...

Units (metric tonnes vs. US "short" tons vs. UK "long" tons).
Standard vs. Full-Load Displacement, with each nation potentially using slightly different criteria for each.
Deliberate obfuscation.

At least length and beam can be objectively (if imperfectly) measured...

I'd wager the 30k refers to "class", not actual displacement.
This line of reasoning could possibly tell us it's less than 40k tho.
