In no particular order:
Norway did well to continue its recent great performances, topping the Gold and Overall. And highest Gold tally ever.
NZ did very well, first Gold and then another. Its best effort.
Australia's best total medal tally.
China far and away had its best games with its highest Gold and overall tally.
Canada's overall tally was consistent but the Gold tally has fallen away.
Germany was close to the levels of its last Olympics but slightly below.
U.S.' 8 Gold medals was its lowest tally since 1998.

Either way China is gonna get blame by the US for its low gold medals turn out. The free media (propaganda) is already working on that narrative.

Amazing. If you had asked me during the start where China would rank I would've said somewhere like 8th or 9th

Not only did China end up at 3rd, it beat the US after they sent their largest delegation ever to try and humiliate China. What a slap in the face for the US, especially after their butthurtness about Eileen Gu.

Ironic that the US beat China by one gold medal during the last Summer Olympics in Japan, and now the reverse has happened with China beating out the US by one gold medal on this winter olympics.

Well I think these games were a huge success. Loved bing dwen dwen and hopefully it'll be available for purchase for a while. A great medal haul for China and some great story lines for some of them. The hockey teams weren't totally outclassed and put up a great fight. The womens team even beat Japan!

Fantastic games, and an unqualified success no matter how you look at it.

For China, Beijing 2022 was a resounding success that exceeded all expectations. To the rest of the world, it remained a deeply polarizing event, that projected not only China's rising power but also its growing assertiveness, ready to defy and challenge its critics.

That passage right there is what's wrong with the West. China and other countries who want to tell their own story by asserting their rights and voices to be heard is being interpreted as "How dare you moment" Only a supremacist thinking culture would ever feel and think this way.
