The PLA was then a tough guerrilla army that lived off the land during the 1937 till 1945,not 1940s-1960s.Now our Army become a Modernization of the army,but it's not for aggression it just for protect of the peace.

Notice the mix of SKS and AK type guns. In PLA units, AK is categorized as Sub-machine gun, and is deployed as such.

So do they carry different rounds and ammunition for each of those weapons?:confused:

Thanks to all of you for a great amount of information. In terms of airborne/paratroopers, what would go in the type 65 back pack, and where did they keep ammunition? Also, was the only weapon used in the 80's the Type 56-1, or were they also still using the Type 50 SMG (PPS-43 copy)? Any other gear used?
