Lmao US reports are a joke as they have been caught straight up giving incorrect data for propaganda purposes before.

China, which has same or better material science than America, and also experience building some of the most quiet SSKs on the planet, wouldn't transfer that over to SSNs?
SSK's are relatively easier to keep quiet especially because electric mode is inherently very quiet. Nuclear reactors are very loud. Making a nuclear reactor quiet does seem like something that needs generational knowledge and experience. I think improved LA noise levels is already quite impressive.

It looks like the launch platform is afloat, but I am not convinced if I see anything on top of it.

We don't need the WSJ article's image to have a clear picture of the barge; there are google earth images going back years.

It's not like the WSJ article's image is dated in a relevant way to any immediate launch that had immediately occurred before or after either.
