Was on the Chinese boards and flipped through the thread myself.
  • Segments present at Hudong shipyard
  • Being assembled under cover, no photos
  • Displacement of adopted design ~38,000 tons
In other news, as has already been mentioned, construction of 003 (formerly 002) at JN has been accelerated.

If parts are already there for assembly, such a ship can't be assembled under cover for long. Parts should be close to ones we saw for 002 carrier in size. Meaning, it's a matter of months before we see the parts of the keel section in one long, 100+ meters in size, structure.

Why would they cover parts when they didn’t cover anything for CV-17?

If it’s under build we will see it today or tomorrow

They did cover parts for CV-17. fabrication of CV17 modules should've began in 2013. We only saw modules in the open when they began getting assembled in 2015

All depends what “under build “ means of 3 stages

I am assuming the steel cutting was already done over a year ago we wouldn’t see that

Once steel is fabricated into modules the first base module is used for keel laying which again I am assuming is done we could see this part

Now starts the joining of modules which again we would expect to see

If under build means steel cut then yes we have a few years until we see the LHD but I believe steel cutting was last summer

I think steel cutting for CV-17 took place in 2013 and it took two years until we had pictures of the modules being laid down.

I wouldn't be surprised if it took one to one and a half years for 075 to make its appearance, depending on how much easier or harder it is to get photos at HD compared to DL.

In other words, we'll probably see it sometime in the first half of next year

About a day late to the party, but I just caught wind that the first 075 is being assembled in drydock, with propulsion system already installed in its module.

There was an associated sketch but it was too sensitive for an official moderator's liking, and the big shrimp's posting privileges were temporarily restricted.

You can find the sketch in the LHD thread on defence.pk, I will not be reposting it here.

Does it have a well deck ?

How credible this seems to be the annual announcement since 2015

Well seem like this time is the real McCoy From Henri K blog

A local source says the propulsion module for the first Chinese Type 075 LHD would be installed in its block inside the covered assembly hall. So far, three independent sources have indicated the good progress of this new Chinese amphibious program.
