That's going to depend on how big the PLA Marines need to be.

A pure helicopter-drone carrier, maybe the 076, without any amphibious or docking capability, would be independent of PLA Marines need, and would be something else entirely, its build numbers will depend directly with the PLAN.

If type 076 is not designed for marine amphibious operations, its class designation should not be type 07X.

Type 07X classification is all about amphibious warfare. Check types 071, 072, 073, 075, 079 and 726.

Well, it could also attack other ships especially when equipped with anti ship helicopters like Ka-52K which can carry anti ship missiles like Kh-35.

(LCU) has been spotted. It looks like it's designed to operate from 075's well deck. A very important piece of the logistics puzzle.
