Do they have names yet?

Not sure if this has been covered much in English news reporting yet, but it was pretty much officially announced they will be getting provincial level names just like the proper aircraft carriers. Namely that also includes our five autonomous regions plus our first tier municipalities alongside just the provinces.

This has actually caused quite a bit of stir on Chinese forums, which had many users believing it was too much for just helicopter carriers and expressing disappointment about how their provinces might never get used for naming proper aircraft carriers.

My best guess is they might be named after inland provinces rather than coastal provinces.

last decade was a complete turnaround for the Chinese navy

in 2010 they one single semi flat deck the Type 071 LPD, at most 4 helicopters

now they have

2 x Carriers
2 x LHD
and 8 x LPD

and 003 soon to follow next year

in wonder what this decade will bring, glad to have followed every development

What is Russian Navy's plan, if any, for helicopter carrier after the French canceled the Mistral order ? Will Russia be interested in the Type 75 LHD ?

I don't think China will object to partial technology transfer to enable Russia to build part of their order in Russia, in exchange for similar arrangement for Russian helicopters.

I did not follow this thread closely. If those questions have been asked and replied, my apology.

with rotary wing and well deck this warship increases the PLAN sea lift capably by a huge margin

imagine 4 x Type 055 + 1 x Type 901 tanker and this Type 075 LHD

in total they can carry between them up to 40+ helicopters

add to that the well deck with 4 x LCAC

multi purpose mission warships

huge force at sea

or we can see 3 x LPD + 1 x LHD thats 16 x LCAC or again over 40 helicopters

the capacity is very big

They need 12 if these navy groups, just to match the main adversary and its so-called allies.

How many amphibian tanks Type 05 this baby could carry ? my guess is 20 to 30?

Imagine 40 heli plus 30 Type 05 amphibian tanks plus 1 battalion marines

Could this baby also carry (in the future) FC-31/35 VTOL ? ... I am hoping it is designed for it ......

They even need an extended version designated as type 075A.

We were never going to get 30 carriers to begin with... anyway Im just glad my provinces already covered =]
