Re: Type 071 LPD
I joust mentioned Thai frigates as example of quality problems. I didn't say that all Chinese ships are badly built...
Jianghu class was delivered in early 1990s while Naresuan class ships were delivered during mid 1990s. While I don't doubt that Chinese shipyards have raised standards during last decade there are still reports of quality problems whit some ships...
As for Thai purchases of Chinese OPV/corvette I bet that price haves something to do whit them. Looking at price for Chinese ships I wouldn't mind costs of repairs since they will still be much cheaper then western counterparts...
That would be Nakhoda class ships been built for Brunei... Refusal to pay those ships have more to do whit Brunei government problems then whit quality of those ships...
Naresuan class and Jianghu-class FFGs?? Both ships were delievered almost 2 decades ago! PRC are progressing very fast. Quality control and standard are much higher nowadays. As what some mention, why Thai still buy PRC made corvette if quality is really that bad?

On the point of quality, there are some corvettes built in Britain for some gulf state (I forget which) where the customer is refusing to pay because of supposed quality problems.
