Ode to the idiots who actually think that China will pull off a D-Day-style invasion of Taiwan. That being said, if the mainland does attempt such a thing, it deserves to be defeated for sheer stupidity.

Why it should be I read the report It doesn't say anything about defeat It said China does not have transport capability for invasion as now But right now they are bulking up on destroyer and frigate, sub etc It is too early to build up the LPD The reunification cannot be postponed forever. At one time they have to decide either now or never
They didn't build up the transport because they don't want to create alarm as yet
I say in another 5 years China will start built the transport capacity in earnest

A question

What’s the length of the deck? And what’s the dimensions of the Z8?

Could they have 4 units on deck rotars switched on ready to take off?

To be honest I do not think sea lift capability is a problem.
The Chinese military could simply use the commercial RORO ships to increase transport capability.

The issue is how to secure the airspace and sea lanes during an invasion.
Without air supremacy over the straits an invasion is impossible.

For this the Chinese need the destroyers and frigates to guarantee safe passage of the transport ships.
They also need long distance strike power and for this transportation aircraft and bombers are also necessary.

The length of the flight deck of the Type 071 stern helicopter is about 70 meters, 20 meters in width. It can comfortably meet the simultaneous take-off and landing of two medium-sized helicopters of more than 10 tons (Z-8s).
