Many countries have ships similar to the type 022.
The PLA can always sell some of them.

The type 022 was good enough for its intended purpose, in fact one might say it is almost excellent.
If the primary goal was to deny enemy surface ships operations in brown to litoral areas in conjunction with air and land assets for support, then the 022 is perfectly suited for it, especially against enemy amphibious operations. Small wonder why a certain island country is betting big on such a class. China's priority has shifted which the 022 was never designed for.
The 056 would be a little too big, too slow and a tad bit too pricey to be utilized in a speedy swarm attack.

That is because
1) Building of type 056 for China navy is closing to an end, less numbers were built last year and thus less commissioning,
2) Chinese netizens have lost interest in type 056, and if they do not post, then we do not get any information.
There were three being fitted at Hudong Zhonghua and can be seen in the background as the Type 075 was rolled out. Three more in fitting can be spotted at Guangdong Huangpu.
The last three from Guangdong Huangpu has visible changes, and I expect the last three from Hudong Zhonghua to follow suit.
First, there is a new high speed data antenna on top of the bridge. This antenna has been spotted on different ships before --- 054A, 052C and 052D --- but not as a new build. The antenna is being retrofitted on the larger ships gradually throughout the fleet, but for the 056A they are installing it new. I am guessing that this HSD like antenna can be a combination of CEC with other ships, helicopters, maritime aircraft and drones, and drone control and navigation.
There are also changes in the Type 726-1 ESM unit, which is also reflected on the last 054A ships and likely on the destroyers. This revision can be seen on the 075. This is a common and standard unit, that is seen with nearly all ships except for the 054A, so I would expect this new revision to be added to new ships and retrofitted on older ones. (The 054A uses a different ESM and ECM unit, but after the 054A+, they reverted to using the Type 726-3 ECM used by the destroyers but kept the ESM. The latest ships have a slight change to this unit.) The Type 056 doesn't use the ESM unit from the 054A but uses the Type 726-1 that are used by the destroyers.
Another change is possibly on one of the SATCOMs. The new SATCOM might be another new standard they are spreading throughout the fleet.
The 30mm cannons on the side had been changed to machine guns.

Interesting choice to "downgrade" remote controlled autocannons to machine guns
Machineguns are remote controlled.

Overall, these changes in the electronics are qualitative improvements so its hard to put a number on it.
