. I don't have access to the full paper, so screen captures will have to suffice. The paper deems the re-design to be more aesthetically pleasing. If the radar in question is indeed destined for 054B, I wonder which design we'll end up getting.

In the first image below, the top illustration shows the old design, the bottom illustration shows the revised design after applying the golden ratio:

You are cheated by the man called “伏尔戈星图”. These two pictures actually come from two different papers, at least I didn't find the first picture in the paper listed. Furthermore, the man “伏尔戈星图” owned a bad reputation, for his pool capacity of Interpreting papers. He often shows off his understanding while he totally misunderstands the main objects the papers discussed about. And in this case, he misled us intendedly.

Hudong, not sure first or second 054B

That definitely looks frigate sized, and is not the first 054B hull (which is in the larger drydock).

I suppose question is whether this is 054B or 054A. There have been some non-specific rumours that 054A production may have a few more hulls left to go, and we can't definitively tell whether the size or proportions is consistent with 054A or 054B at immediate glance.

A satellite image would help in this case.

Thank you for the correction. I will keep that in mind and be more critical of that source in the future.

In view of @lzqoct's correction, I wonder which of the two designs below will end up on the 054B, assuming they are intended for the frigate. As far as I can recall, only the top design has been spotted in the wild.

More likely the bottom. As previously mentioned, the bezels on the side are meant for radar cross section reduction. Its not about beauty.

The Type 368 which is already in service with the Type 075 also features similar side bezels. These bezels are much too small to be seen on a small radar from a distance, which blows that this is for aesthetics arguments. If anything the radar on the top should also have a bezel on top to reduce RCS from the top view, like we see below. So in truth, the real answer might be neither, as the final bezel shape might yet to be finalized and there needs to be one on the top.

As also, the Thales NS200 radar also features these bezels for the same purpose. Note again both sides and the top.
