In general I am curious if HQ-10 series get reloaded on ship. I feel it should.

Assuming (!) config and procedures are similar to RIM-116 RAM, its certainly very doable.

The appropriate place to put one would be on top of the hanger. Unfortunately that would be sacrificing an important SATCOM.

The whole point of staying within the weight class where manhandling is a thing is to do that very handling.

so far a busy year for the Type 054/A programme

4 launched and with these 2 more thats 6 launches in 2022

not inducing Pakistans units thats 40 x Type 054A for PLAN

any more planned or do we see a pause now ?

Didn't they just cancelled the orders for the remainder 8x 054As in exchange for the first 12x 054Bs earlier this year?

Besides, the 054B is expected to be better than the 054A in practically every metric and was meant to be the direct successor to the 054A. To put it simply, the evolution from 054A to 054B is not the same as 052D to 055.

So why would they expand 054A's production once 054B's production is already well underway?

Those 054As are already well under construction when the decision to cancel the remainder 054A orders for 054Bs are made.
