The PLAN has obviously been unhappy about the Type 056 general purpose corvettes [....]

I don't think that is "obvious" at all. It could be that PLAN only ever intended to operate ~50 Type 056 ships and, some years back, judged it better to produce additional units to the latest standard than to upgrade early 056 units without towed array sonar to that standard. Likewise, additional units for the Coast Guard may have long been planned also, and this sequence of events the result of balancing the requirements and inventories of the two services with budgets and production constraints

Or it could be that the decision was taken to increase the number of ocean-going frigates at the cost of Type 056, reflecting an evolution in PLAN's requirements. However, if that is the case, it implicitly suggests that PLAN is running out of obsolete FACs and other small craft to trade off instead, which in turn suggests that the scope for future growth will be much more limited than it has been to date.

The early retirement of the base Type 056 ships and their conversion to Coast Guard service is a noteworthy data point, and we can advance various possible explanations for it, but I do not believe we can yet be confident in those explanations.

The Type 054A frigate Ziyang of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy recently made its training debut, with observers saying on Wednesday that the newly commissioned warship will enhance the PLA Navy's capabilities.

A report by China Central Television (CCTV) on Tuesday showed that the Ziyang, with the hull number 522, conducted a training exercise featuring live-firing of its main gun and anti-submarine depth charges.

The sailors on the Ziyang will focus on training with future battlefields in mind, and will ensure the vessel can fight successfully on command, the CCTV report quoted Ma Shaoli, head of the Ziyang's main gun operating team, as saying.

The Ziyang is affiliated with the PLA Eastern Theater Command Navy, according to a press release published by the PLA Eastern Theater Command on its WeChat account earlier this month, when sailors on the vessel celebrated the National Day on October 1.

With the commissioning of the new Type 054A frigate, the PLA Navy will get enhanced capabilities in safeguarding China's national sovereignty, territorial integrity and development interests, a Beijing-based military expert told the Global Times on Wednesday, requesting anonymity.

As a type of warship capable of sailing in distant seas, the Type 054A frigate plays an important role in China's goal of building a blue water navy, the expert said.

that's the first time we had a glace upon the structure of the 054a's crew, isn't it? and I know it's pretty obvious, but can it happens to refer the missile instead of the front gun when they say "Main gun"?

The video doesn't play for me. Did he actually say that AWACS can't provide fire control radar level data? That it can't guide missiles all the way till the target? I mean it would make sense if that's the case, since KJ-500 operates in L band whereas most air defense radar are in S band. This would also mean they can put HQ-16s in 052D VLS without requiring those illuminators.

Also, if AWACS can guide HQ-16 close enough to a low RCS attacking missile to blow it up, then it should also be able to guide PL-15 to F-35 to be used.

No, he didn't said that.

No, no where in the video said that.

What was stated was that the AWACS sent the co-ordinates of the target to type 054A, and the ship captain ordered missiles be fired to that co-ordinate. Two missiles were fire and they hit the target. There is no other details given in the video.

Hmmm...if she had such serious sea sickness, why isn't she in the Army or other branches (where her skills and knowledge could still be put to use without vomits)? Couldn't the PLAN simply enlist folks who do not have sea sickness?
