Nice that would mean the 11th from HP and the 22nd over all

I remember last year around this time I said I hope we can see by end of 2014 the 22nd x Type 054A or atleast some pictures that suggest that the production is continuing and here we have it the production has continued and we have now seen more Type 054A than the French La Fayette which in all variants was 20 units

Now I would like to say, I hope by end of 2015 we have concluded the Type 054A production and start to see a new FFG design the Type 054B FFG or maybe they will continue the Type 054A units we shall see next year

My goal personal goals over the years have been interlinked with what Chinese shipyards have been doing its kind of strange that I like to plan what PLAN will have each year and at the same time plan I what want to get in my personal life too maybe that's why I enjoy following PLAN and Chinese military so much because nothing is planned or advertised we have to keep guessing and waiting for actual units to appear I guess that's part of the excitement and that's what makes it fun for me and I guess others too

I am visiting HMS Victory Gate tomorrow to greet a PLAN Task Group including a Type 071 and a Type 054A, which just finished their anti-piracy missions. Anything I should pay particular attention to these ships?

Oh really nice I would love to but being on the East Coast of Scotland it would be a massive trek not to mention time off from work!!

Yes can you get as many pictures as possible and if you are allowed to board the Type 071 LPD try and get shots of inside the helicopter hanger and also if possible and your are allowed inside then the well deck and the compartment infront of the well deck

Also get a visual of the inside of the Type 071 so like how many compartments it had and holding areas which to be honest we already know but just for the record

Also ask the sailors how they get fresh water onboard, do they always use the desalination plants onboard the ships or do they receive from under way replenishment of both

Also try and get a figure on how much fresh water the Type 903, Type 054A and Type 071 LPD can produce individually

To be honest I would have lots of questions but those are a few I would say

But fresh water question and Type 071 LPD layout from me :)

Ahh I am back to London! Just saw your reply, thought no one here have any interest in 071 and 054A anymore as no one bothered to reply...

By the time you replied I was about to board the 071 LPD, so I did not ask the fresh water question but I did ask some other questions on the 054A (which I am more interested in) and took some photos. I boarded both of the surface combatants and I got in the helicopter hanger of 071 along with some PLAN and Royal Navy officials, who was comparing that with the hanger of

Some Chinese visitors are still surprised that China can show a warship to everyone, and worried that will cause "leak of national secret". The older education system have given that mindset. However the crew are very open to almost all questions and are transparent, so if any of you have any questions to ask and do not mind travelling, they are open for 5 days in Portsmouth.

The crew was very professional and friendly, some of them are shy of cameras tho. Most officials are well educated and fluent in english, leaving a great impression of the new Navy to people. I will upload my photos later.
