what a finish to 2019 a massive rally towards the end both in aviation and naval
so that 8 x Type 052D and 2 x Type 055
total 10 in 2019
standard rate is 2-3 x DDG per year
3 times faster this year but also launch cycles also probably helped
5 x Type 052D from JNCX and 3 x Type 052D from DL

Hopefully Type 095 SSN will follow in the 2020's. They are needed with the Yellow Peril spreading as wildfire among the facists in Murica and their Anglo vassals. I heavily dislike Anglos (Australians, Americans, Brits) as Chinese. After all the misery since 1840's China need a good and strong military.

Yes, the first type 052D with extended helipad length and new radar etc to enter service, call it either 052DG or 052DL depends on one's preference.
This one (156) went to the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla of the ESF. This is an accomplished formation, somehow got four 052C (150 to 153), 154, which is their first 052D, 155 which is a strange 052D as it is a hybrid of 1st and 2nd batch features, and now 156. Even after this, they still got more 052C than 052D.
There should be another Type 052DL in advanced state of trials, which means, based on PLAN's new revised procedures for doing such, the weapons and acceptance trials are being done by the PLAN.
New radar is not an L-band. While it is a new antenna with more elements, it still runs on UHF.

This is the second exercise the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy did in less than a month. The last one was in South Africa with the Marshall Ustinov, Slava class cruiser, with the Type 054A attached with the 34th Escort Task Force, along with the South African Navy. 117 Xining should be currently attached with the 34th Escort Task force. You can see a pattern emerging with the joint exercises.

It looks like 10 DDG per year is normal for the next 15 yrs, until 150 DDG is reached.
