Well, one the holes in the main mast would have be a short wave length high search rate radar. X band seems the most likely if they want it to be multi-role. The horizon search function is currently handled by Type 364 on 052C and D.

Re # 1533...No, they are not forgotten.. they are berthed at Hainan, just in case ...There are several navy ships, amongst which..052D, 054A,056, 072 at Military Yunza wharf at Hainan....
