Here is more precisely what was said

-Talking about the speed of that Dalian ship-

Yankee: Also, Jiangnan really did send people over to help.

-Talk some more about the "big cooperation of the CVN project" between the shipyards, and how Dalian is a bit worse than Jiangnan with this construction method-

Yankee: It also happened that the work on Jiangnan’s side didn’t need them for the time being, and that’s important too.

Shilao: Two groups of people doing two separate things versus two groups of people doing one thing is still a bit different.

Yankee: [inaudible] The change in the decision should be, many years from now, something I’ll think should be pretty interesting.

So there was some sort of change and that those workers aren't needed at Jiangnan right now, but it doesn't necessarily mean there isn't going to be a CV at Jiangnan.

They also mentioned again about the political importance of the Dalian ship. Using the "ding" theory again, this aircraft carrier is a symbol of status and power, even more so than the previous carriers.

AFAIK, isn't JN according to rumors going to be busy building nuclear barges and ice breakers (of which both are going to need a carrier sized drydock) for the next few years? Perhaps one of the reasons JN's CV is seemingly getting pushed back is due to limited slots being available and PLAN wanting to first verify the 004's design.

you are correct. work has already begun.

Speaking of which, @伏尔戈星图 indicated that the 30000-ton nuclear-powered icebreaker project and the 80000-ton floating nuclear power plant project are to begin work soon (if not already).

Allegedly a tender, and.. well

  • This is a public procurement notice from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. (大连船舶重工集团有限公司) in Dalian
  • Title: “A certain project: repair procurement requirement for power supply conversion devices on both port and starboard sides at two locations.”
  • Category: military industry requirement (军工需求).
  • Project number: H5000.
  • Date shown: 2026-02-24.
  • The top part includes a ship cross-section schematic (starboard side) with key dimensions labeled, such as maximum deck width about 83 m, starboard outward flare about 17.5 m, hangar width about 22.5 m, and waterline width about 46 m (plus a few other smaller measurements).

(don't mind the AI watermark, it has nothing to do with the tender, as well as the weird text warps)

The hanger only 22.5 in width??? Seems unlikely!

The original poster is @星依樱未 on Bilibili, and he/she has actually posted that same figure several times in the same video with different values of dimensions for most of the measurements indicated in the figure, every single time (if not outright censoring those values).

The only values that remain the same are the width of the flight deck at its widest points (~83 meters) and the starboard outward flare width (~17.5 meters).

Hence, the only way to be certain of those values indicated in the figure would be to find that exact tender document shown in the video from the original source.

Edit: This might be the one?
