So there definitely are more HD pictures available, but people don't want to share them more publicly so they don't get a tea invitation. This is one of them. The new civilian ship being docked there, plus the text itself is a confirmation that it's a newer pic. The text makes it seems like it's from the Maxar satellite:

We also have this picture which shows that under the sheds there are new and very large components ready to be installed;

And there are claims that the photos, including this blurry one, indicate that the new dock modules have roughly doubled the total length of what can be seen inside the dry dock compared to earlier this summer:

I can understand chinese netizens being wary of sharing such images, but these Maxar images are they not available to pretty much anyone in the world? Again, it's obvious that interested parties have satellites watching that particular dock 24/7 so the recent censorship that really affects only ordinary watchers it's puzzling and frustrating.

They aren't really available to everyone. There are quite a few hurdles for just random civilians.

First, they can cost several thousand dollars, depending on whether it's new tasking or available archived imagery, the desired resolution and the covered area (and there's a minimum-covered area that you have to pay for no matter how small the spot that you actually want to see is). So why would you pay that just so others can see it?

And it's not always the case that a random civilian gets their request for a certain area approved by a company like Maxar. The images may fall under several severe legal restrictions (EAR/ITAR), especially under a certain resolution and if they include military installations or assets.

And even if the tasking gets approved, you have to agree to licensing, which usually doesn't allow you to just post it on social media.

In their paid episode today, Ayi said this (29:45):

(while talking about the number of J-15s in service and preparing future pilots) Because you also want to look at the next two aircraft carriers, including this "basically officially announced" nuclear-powered carrier

Again aligning with expectations: two carriers under construction, one of them nuclear

I am at a serious disbelief that there is another hidden carrier under construction that isn't the one in Dalian (let alone deciding what the Dalian one truly is).
@00CuriousObserver Can you elaborate on which program it is? Chahuahui察话会 or Weekly Military Observance一周军评? I gotta listen to it myself.

It's Chahuahui 察话会, but Yankee has said before that there are two carriers under construction, one nuclear and one conventional.

At the early stage of ship building, i.e. steel cutting, farbication of modules inside a hall/shelter, it is impossible to have visual observation. More so many such fabricated modules would be incognito even if place in the open-air storage yard.

I am not saying there are indeed 2 aircraft carriers being built at this moment, but the possibility is there. It will be more prudent to just wait to see if it is true.

It is possible any large ships under construction anywhere are of type 003, type 004 or type 076.
