052C/052D Class Destroyers

Interesting to note that JNCX has not launched a Type 052D in 2017

They have been dropping 2-3 units per year on average

2017 sees them putting resources into Type 055

But I am hopeful that maybe they can surprise us and drop one in the water before 2018 maybe even 2

This year there was 1 single Type 052D launch in 2017 from DL only

Well it is better late than never. They release the commission date of Xiamen June 10th. From Oedo. I think it is the 6th not 7th Urumqi is the 7th not sure if it commission yet
The day of commission of the 052 D destroyer 7th ship "Xiamen" finally opened, it was June 10th.

After the single launch from JNCX of Type 052D time to update

Looks like 2018 will be a big year for Type 052D DDG

The 14th unit is expected to be launched early 2018 from JNCX

Modules of 15th unit have appeared at JNCX

DL has showed up 2 x Type 052D the 16th and 17th overall

This is pretty unbelievable since in 5 years we have identified 17 x Type 052D DDG

So no slowing in the pace

From Henri K blog the 9th and 10th outfitting, Heavier CIWS I like the nice clean look of 52D
The 9th Type 052D destroyer built at Jiangnan Changxing shipyard, also the 10th in series in chronological order of launching. It should be noted that the CIWS H / PJ-12 in position B has been replaced by the H / PJ-11 which has been installed also on Chinese aircraft carriers.

Very nice indeed. Actually it is really beyond me than PLAN called the newer, better and bigger CIWS is PJ-11 (11 barrels), the improved version of PJ-12 (7 barrels). Why use lower number designation for the newer one? :(:(:(
