China backtracks over no-fly zone near Taiwan​

Beijing reduces planned three-day closure that coincided with G7 summit in Japan to just 27 minutes

China backtracked on Wednesday over plans to block some of the world’s busiest airspace near Taiwan, in a rare move that caused confusion over Beijing’s handling of its stand-off with Taipei and Washington.

That window of time would have coincided with the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Nagano, Japan, which starts on April 16. US secretary of state Antony Blinken would have needed to travel through the no-fly zone to reach the summit from Vietnam, which he is due to visit this weekend.

Two people familiar with procedures for temporary airspace closures owing to satellite launches said such stoppages extended for a few hours at most in the past.

Taiwan aware of recent French warship Taiwan Strait transit​

Taipei, April 12 (CNA) Taiwan's military is aware of the recent Taiwan Strait transit by a French warship, a senior official said Wednesday, after local and international media reported the rare transit by a Naval vessel from the European country.

Without identifying the ship, General Yen Yu-hsien (顏有賢) under the defense ministry's Office of Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Intelligence confirmed a French warship did make a passage through the waterway that separates Taiwan and China from south to north recently.

Yen's remarks partially confirmed the passage made by Prairial, a Floréal-class surveillance frigate of the French Navy, reportedly made from late April 9 to early April 10, according to Taiwan-based Chinese-language online news site RWMedia early Wednesday.

It doesn't sound like a good thing.
Americans seem to want NATO to intervene in the Taiwan issue. Unlike Ukraine, Taiwan is an absolutely high-quality arms procurement customer.

Since those Czechs visited Taiwan, any country dares to publicly intervene in the Taiwan issue.

Their actions are signing 51 agreements and then providing additional security to China. This frigate is on Chinas side.
