When the whole Jimmy Kimmel "kill all Chinese so we don't need to repay debt" thing happened in 2013, most Chinese thought "hmm those American children interviewed are uncultured. They'd better improve education for the few American children".

Then when the sanctions started against ZTE and Jinhua started in 2017, many Chinese thought "these companies are a bit arrogant playing up their tech capabilities and flagrantly violating intellectual property/sanctions on Iran. But Sino-American relations are anchored by mutual trade".

Then when Meng Wanzhou was kidnapped in 2018 and one ban after another crippled Huawei's chipmaking ambitions, some Chinese thought "well Huawei is surpassing Apple and Qualcomm technologically so the Americans probably felt insecure. They'll still allow other tech companies like Xiaomi and Oppo to survive if they don't challenge American tech superiority."

Then when a U.S. state department official stated that China is the first "great power competitor that's not Caucasian", a few Chinese thought "the current Trump regime is very racist and dangerous. But things will surely improve when he is no longer in power".

Now, Biden is president and there is bipartisan support for banning Tiktok and passing the Restrict Act, all the non-cuck Chinese are crying out loud:

I had a realisation the other day re the arrest of Trump.
We are at a crossroads of history, it reminds me of how in Ancient Rome, the senate ordered the suicides of powerful consuls and generals, like the Roman senate wanting to indict Caesar as opposed to Cincinnatus who gave up his army and retired to the countryl

Trump is similarly in the same situation as Caesar, and has often been compared to Caesar by his supporters. Why would they do that? The current ruling cohort of China (ages 40-55) came of age during the apex of western hegemony and became rich and high status off of riding the coattails of the west (i.e. looting privatized state assets and asset bubbles and parking the money in the west and offshore tax havens).

China will never have self-respect until the country has a violent purge of compradors and would be compradors. Nor will the west stop trying to plunge the country into anarchy and poverty. Peace was never an option.

The ruling elite of China will continue to beg the west to stop humiliating them to no avail. They will continue to "negotiate" (i.e. give concessions) because they still benefit from this system (for now) and because cowardice and submission are ingrained in their mentalities from the circumstances of their upbringing. One can only pray that the younger cohorts who do have some self-respect and confidence take over faster.

Every once in a while we get posters like you acting all tough and shit, who basically thinks and acts like you're owed by China and it's Chinese leaders not mention the people that had to literally work their sweats off in order for China to rise and achieve the things it achieve thus far. I don't know you personally nor would I care to know, but you're posts on this forum thus far are mostly demands and pronouncements that China needs to spend x amount of RMB to rid the big bad west damn the consequences for the rest of humanity not to mention the insane destruction, loss of lives for China as well. What's the context there? I have no clue at all and I have lived in the Philippines for a decade. I don't understand how the majority of the Filipinos think they're so brave and can take on China's military no problem when the country's actual warriors aren't even considered Filipino. Read the sanitized version of that island country's history and you'll notice that the very fist significant person that fought against the eventual Spanish colonizer was not Catholic dude, with a Spanish name. In fact, the man came to be known as Lapu Lapu was from a long forgotten member of warrior tribe thought to be of muslim/Islamic faith although many Colonizers/Filipino historian love to dispute this nugget since that history dilutes the contributions of Muslims/Islam to the defense of that archipelago. Most of the heroes they love to parade are actual hacienderos, land owning/rent seeking figures most prominent of all which was Jose Rizal. These books were made as instrumental in finally riling up the local elites to rise against their Spanish masters.
