Peter Theil is one sick dude. And these executives are so afraid of competition that they don't even pretend of hiding it.

I tell you Filipinos are Proud when they become servants in the west. They are also very proud to be auxiliaries in colonial and imperialist wars. Nothing of value is lost.
Entertainment apps don't belong on work devices anyways, so this is pure political theater. The real things to watch are the RESTRICT Act and the law for total national ban of TikTok, not just on government work devices.
A family relative may or may not work at U.S. Federal gov't..... would never in a million years install a social media app on a U.S. gov't phone or laptop. US gov't devices have very strict policies, so nobody really puts personal stuff on it.
So this ban is purely symbolic and has no real impact.
