The War in the Ukraine

Ukraine defence minister Oleksii Reznikov claimed that "approximately 500 or 600 Russian fighters were being killed every day across the country, while Ukraine was losing a tenth of that". ;)

About Soledar Reznikov says, quote:
The situation in Soledar was "very difficult", Mr Reznikov said, but "under control".

There are certain code words I take with Ukrainian announcements to mean certain things.

"Russian attack repulsed." --- "We are still trying but we are preannouncing it."
"Russian attack partially successful" --- "We got our asses completely handed to us."
"The situation is under control." --- "We are under attack and we need help."
"The situation is difficult." --- "Its complete chaos out there and we're retreating to save our asses."

NATO is starting to send their most capable armored vehicles but the biased editors on Wikipedia still refuse to list any country supplying Ukraine as countries supporting Ukraine, let alone NATO.

Well you should add them. as Wikipedia belongs to everyone. Just make sure to leave some talks in the article's "discussion" page regarding your edits and reasons.

Also i think Oryx did list the countries that provides aid including those sending weaponry.

[ ] Something is very wrong with AD in Ukraine right now
[X] Kh-22 (entered service 1962) is an invincible wunderwaffe
They claimed that missile in Dnipro was shootdown but falled on the building, because they intercepted all missiles. They had also claim it was a S-300 used like a ballistic missile and now it's a Kh-22 that was not shootdown because they are not able too ???

Maybe it was a gaz explosion at this rate?

Strange.

There should be no trouble for Ukrainian S-300 to down it and even it can be done in near maximum range of the system as Kh-22 is not a sea skimmer and it has relatively large RCS. And it still within the envelope of their BUK's. Also interesting snippets. Unless maybe it flies way above 27000 meter maximum intercept altitude of the system. But it surely can get it at terminal phase. Tho yes unfortunately due to size of the missile there could be a large chunk surviving and that could include warhead.

The S-300PT and PS was still equipped with early 5V55 with blast frag without the ability to direct the explosion to certain part of the target, an ability which first demonstrated in PM with 48N6DM missile.

The Ukrainian S-300V however do have such capability from get go due to its anti missile role emphasis.

"In the Armed Forces of Ukraine there are no fire devices capable of shooting down this type of missile. Since the beginning of Russian military aggression on Ukraine, more than 210 missiles of this type have been launched. None of them are knocked down by air defense equipment," Oleshuk said.

So 100% intercept rate are.

At this point i feel the Ukraine asked for a Libya or Iraq type No fly zone but with Nato fighters roaming the skies of Ukraine doing the cruise missile hunting for them.

The Kh-22 cruises at 27km altitude and Mach 4.6. It descends on target at a very steep angle stressing point defense system tracking capability. The upgrade version called Kh-32 cruises at 40km.

Is this outside the envelope of Ukrainian S-300?

digging back on S-300P's envelope mainly for PS (which exported as S-300PMU) seems indicate such. The 5V55R allows engagement of target with maximum speed of 1200 m/s or about Mach 3 and maximum engagement altitude of 25000 m.

Well turns out the one with 27 Km and Mach 8 target speed capability was the S-300PMU-1 or S-300PM.
