That guy is a stinker and is a summary of how the USA views the rest of the world. They didn't even bother with sending someone who knows Chinese or has any knowledge of China. I think the next Chinese ambassador to the USA shouldn't speak any English even if he knows it.
Taiwan has banned all Chinese social media and Alibaba and Bilibili. More importantly, TSMC is no longer a card that can be played due to Taiwan has cooperated with the US sanctions. With a few hundreds billions trade surplus, Taiwan doesn't have leverage. Moreover, WTO has basically been hijacked by the US and become ineffective in resolving any trade disputes. So Good luck.
