Erdogan is tolerated by that region leaders as they cannot find a bigger idiot to rule over Turkey.
Turkey should consider itself lucky to have 80% inflation. such small GDP with so big trade deficit.
once Ukraine is out of picture than Turkey will become practically 100% depended on Russian grain imports.
than it will become Arab owned grain feeding Turks. infrastructure is already going in that direction so that more Ships takes longer routes and preferrable use Suez Canal. Blacksea will become far less important for trade.

The economic, financial, and political situation of the Soviet Union during Krushhev's tumultuous tenure aren't comparable at all in anyway to China under the helm of Xi Jinping. The only similarity you can find between Xi and Kruschev is that their countries political party and organization is holding the banner of Communist Party and the acronym of their political entities of then Soviet's Central Committee of the Communist Party (CCCP) to China's Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as popularly/cleverly pushed by many western analysts rather than it's formal moniker of Communist Party of China (CPC). The material conditions, wealth, strength, influence of both republics are hardly similar. The Sovient Union for all it's military strength was never an economic behemoth that China is today.

@sequ you're a very good defense analyst of your country's defense and other military related topic including your country's political system. It's best you stick to that topic of expertise before you start musings on a subject matter where your knowledge is tangential at best or worst highly speculative and maybe even jaundiced from many different factors (am speculating here now) which am sure you wouldn't like.

Why there is no military coup in China - if there was a shred of truth, the headlines would not just appear on fake Twitter accounts, but in the major Western media.

It is very likely that Jennifer Zeng is the original source of the misinformation, but Ukrainian bots have also ridden the wave. Already this morning this fake appeared in a number of European forums.
