This is ridiculous. British monarchy is supposed to be a symbolical monarchy. Bad enough you can get arrested in UK to question or protest against it during this time. But this is Australia and she is an aboriginal person, native to the land. Her ancestors have suffered from British colonialism and she can't even make a critical comment on the queen online? Simanan is just a small time pundit, and his anti-US "acts" are basically firing his mouth cannon. I'm not sure there's been a big hit to his credibility. One common view is that there is nothing wrong with him owning US real estate as long as the transaction did not violate any Chinese or US law.

From my personal experience, Chinese are less tolerant of hypocritical politicians and media pundits. Si has significant influence/support among the leftists in china especially when he spread-headed the call to investigate Lenovo founder earlier this year. Owning a house in US certainly makes his critical views of US less believable.

No China has not lost. CCP members owning extravagant assets in the west is a major weakness that I believe US could very well weaponize when push comes to shove. Hence I support Xi's corruption crackdown. But I worry he might face too much resistance when it comes rooting out potential corruption among families of CCP elders and his allies.

My Lenovo example was to show his influence on Chinese internet.

There are accusations against Lenovo founder Liu Chuanzhi of wrongdoings when managing the company. Liu allegedly participated in deals that involving improper transfer of state assets. Simanan leading and rallying Chinese netizens to call for an investigation of Liu is a sign of his influence. Hence he is not some small time pundit like you suggested.
