Think this is actually a good video on a bit more on the situation, although no translation, so only really for people that can understand chinese.

The gist or short version being that we're likely gonna see an approach from the east, which will make it harder for the PLA to intercept it (might have to directly fly above Taiwan).

Besides the above, it also talks about how it kind of has become a military showdown between the US military and the PLA, although not likely to directly lead to war, but the US side wants to 'test' the PLA and see what kind of response they will do.

And finally, the video alludes that the rift between the political side and the military side in the US is there, with the US military in fact not truly caring about Pelosi dying or not, while Pelosi doesn't care about how this might result in a military crisis say one like cuban or the crisis in 1996.

Oh, and lastly, it was also said that the PLA might very well take some other hard measures, such as directly firing missiles to hit some target on Taiwan.

Because as the name suggests, it's not a "world war" unless fought by the world.

Because the US is provoking this unnecessary war

This is presicely why I said the war should be aiming the drive the US out of first island chain instead of taking Taiwan. US is gonna sanction anyway, so why leave them unscathed? Drag the US down the rabbit hole, whether they like or not.

Peaceful unification can only achieved by defeating the US first
The assumption is far from certain that US needs to be defeated first.

If the US leadership is as hardened as Putin is. Or if the US population is as frugal and warlike as the Japanese in ww2. Then perhaps war would be a certainty.

But that is not the case. Americans seem loud on the Internet (through its hard to know how many of those are real people) but I'd bet that when push comes to shove, even jai hinds are more likely to actually fight for their country. America is under severe economical pressure. Even during the Vietnam war era, Americans were much poorer and still heavily resisted conscription.

Of course it is far more preferable for America to not join the civil war compared to if they join.

US lost in Afghanistan and Syria, doesn't dare to send troops to Ukraine even with Russia being so slow and practically inviting NATO to try and topple their forces.

If Biden don't even dare to defend Ukraine with troops when Ukraine is a sovereign nation fighting a defensive war against Russia who joined into their civil war, what are the likelihood of Biden declaring an offensive special military operation on China's core territories then?

As much as I disagree with half of the nonsense being said here, you're right that the US has no real interest in entering another war. It would be foolish to preemptively attack and brings up memories of Pearl Harbor.

I'm wondering whether it would be an option to just let the plane land unopposed, then use that as justification for the invasion of Taiwan.

Otherwise Pelosi's plane can just fly away when confronted not entering Taiwanese airspace and America will continue using Taiwan against China.

It is highly interesting to note the tone and tenor of people posting here change in last 3-4 days. After all the bravado about defeating the US, now down to discussing low military budget and manufacturing more nukes.

Some of you really thought China has the nerve to shoot down the plane carrying United States' #3 ?

We have a saying in India "Ab aaya oont pahaad ke neeche" - translated - now the camel has come below the mountain

Because this forum has a capacity to self regulate.

An opposite example would be various indian forums post galwan, esp. after China released photos of the 200 galwan pows.

Besides, the show ain't finished yet
