In short, nuclear weapons win respect. I want Americans singing about respect like Aretha Franklin:
R-E-S-P-E-C-T! China, that's what you mean to me!

I respectfully disagree.

You cannot get respect from racists or rabid ideologues.

Still, we got to live with those assholes. It is a small world.

That is why I believe in Chairman Mao. Don't fuck with and I won't fuck with you.

Pelosi is bringing a whole armada and an air force for her visit.

That is highly unusual.

It is like Taiwan belongs to her.

Will there be blood in the water from this incident? Really don't know. Maybe it is a 50/50 proposition.

@9dashline

there are some further useful escalations that should be done before Pelosi lands:

1. designate DPP as a criminal organization, issue warrants for DPP ringleaders

2. secondary sanctions declared on DPP, mainland will not be involved in the supply chain of DPP linked businesses.

3. partially cancel recognition of Taiwanese university degrees, lower them to equivalent of mainland associate degrees (本科等同于大专)

4. ban Taiwanese airlines from Chinese airspace - even if they're just passing

5. cancel all recognition of Taiwanese food safety, all Taiwanese food imports are now treated as biohazardous materials until proven, at importer expense, to be safe and compliant with PRC regulations
First step is discontinue ECFA immediately.

Someone is spoofing the transponder. There is no B-52s or predators over Taiwan. If there are, it will be a major escalation, unless they declare emergency, they'll get shot down pretty quick.
Americans may dart a recon plane toward China's coast, they'd really stupid to fly nuclear capable bombers toward China, especially over China's airspace. There are faster way to commit suicide than that.

Definitely not a province-wide thing. Might just be in some key logisitical areas. I just passed by a few gas stations and they're operating as normal.

Probably. Seems like someone else made another post but in Xiamen. Doesn’t the military use diesel anyway? Doubt petrol is of huge importances but maybe for civilian transportation trucks. However, it’s not like China lacks diesel.

If PRC actually got into a war with US over Pelosi's visit, there is a high chance that India would also make trouble for PRC at Galwan, taking advantage of the situation anyway. Two front war is still very much in the cards. Only in this case, India would have the initiative. When the possibility of two front war is high anyway, it would be smart to cripple a potential weaker adversary first, eliminate it from the board so to speak. AFAIK, US administration has made pledges to defend Taiwan and US hasn't made similar pledges to India.
Its possible but it would depend on their assessment of PLA strength as well as other factors whereas in your scenario they would be already in a protracted war with China with no choice in the matter. One is a guarantee the other is optional. Even if it happens it would still likely be restricted to the border dispute whereas in an all out war the stakes are a lot higher. Again Taiwan is the weaker opponent not India, India can be sustained for far longer. How exactly are you going to wipe India off the board? It would require a prolonged major scale war not some small scale defensive campaign. Turn what is essentially a border skirmish into a protracted large scale war? US is still ambiguous on the defense of Taiwan and there is no telling if China goes to war with India especially as the offending side the US wouldn’t come to their defense either(it would be a much better justification since they are a sovereign nation and more nations will side with India).
