That part will be easy.
USA managed it after nuclear bombing Japan, and Russia has gas, oil and food its disposal.
Serious escalation if foreign fighters are hurt.
I don't think they said the same thing when foreign fighters died in Syria or Iraq.
How could you possibly compare "terrorists fighters" with these "western foreign fighters" for one thing, the foreign fighters in Syria were there to fight for a tyrannical ideology; whereas these boys are fighting for "freedom" and "Democracy" not to mention they're fighting for people that are civilized, prim, and proper. Sarcasm ends.
This escalatory Russian action is going to test the American led western resolve. I wonder what's going to be their response in the next 72 hrs.

The Russian soldiers are not greeted as liberators. The soldiers expected this, but it didn't happen.
In some parts they actually are though.
With that said, response is mixed and tbh the majority is probably more neutral ('annoyed' about war changing their life most likely), of course more negative response will most likely happen when civilian casualties happens.
Also civilians are being kinda held 'hostage/used as shield' (setting up/staying around civilian areas) by the ukrainian army as well, not something I see civilians being very happy about.
