Very rare photos of US Army seizing "weapons of mass destruction" in "relatively uncivilized" Iraq

FM9R--nWUAAYsjU.jpg

The water blockade by civilized champions of humanity was unblocked the way they understood :
The Russian media showed that the Dnieper water again flowed through the North Crimean Canal, unblocked by the Russian military, 8 years later.

Germans did something similar with blitzkrieg.

The key of deep battle doctrine is similar to blitzkrieg: overwhelm a weak point, encircle, annihilate.

The difference with Russian deep battle doctrine is that blitzkrieg gathers one very strong armored push to outright overwhelm defenses while deep battle does reconnaissance in force with small units to find the weak points then surges reserves to the weak point.

Blitzkrieg requires actually physically encircling the enemy and fighting a battle of annihilation in the kessel, but as you see from the Russian moves here, they don't need to encircle fully or commit to a battle of annihilation. They've destroyed enemy reserves and supplies per deep battle doctrine, so they slowly close in while leaving a small corridor for the enemy to attempt a breakthrough (which is watched and if a breakthrough attempt is made, they'll be wiped by artillery and air power). Or the enemy can attack into a strong line and get wiped anyways. Or they'll just starve out and surrender.

We see a masterful application of deep battle in East Ukraine right now.
Exactly. I served in the US army and was very confused at the first few days of the ground war. I understood a good bit from my own experience but did a little research. Their doctrine is not as worried about casualties as we are and as I began to understand their doctrine it became more clear that they were executing it exactly as it is detailed.

Lots of learning going on here.

Also thank you mods for opening thus back up. Besides the jerks, this thread has had some great discussions and information.

It appears that the Flag Ship of the Ukrainian Navy; Krivak III frigate Hetman Sahaidachny; had survived the initial attack against the Ukrainian navy and was subsequently scuttled by its crew in Nikolaev to prevent its capture by Russian forces.

they accept they'll take a few hundred or even thousand losses in the first few days as their recon forces mark the enemy's position (mostly with smoke from their burning vehicles).

They'll take almost no losses later on when the opponent finds cruise missiles and parts of recon forces they didn't take out have destroyed their supply depots, they're being surrounded by tanks, they're running out of food and ammo, and everywhere they move gets carpet bombed. You don't take many casualties that way.

Okay, do whatever you want. I’m sure you and the other children will take your Kindergarten, knee-jerk, nationalism to another thread when this one gets closed, again!
Your personal insult is uncalled for. It could get you a ban if the rules are stricted enforced. Although, I don't really care enough to report you.

As for the second part, I don't mind if a separate thread dedicated to economic sanctions and the fallout due to Ukraine conflict to be created. However, at the moment, the West is focused upon economic warfare against Russia which is an essential part of Ukraine conflict.

Russia has launched more than 480 missiles in Ukraine since the start of the Kremlin’s invasion, with forces showing a “willingness to hit civilian infrastructure on purpose,” a senior U.S. defense official said Thursday.
The only have fire 500 of the probably ten of thousands they have.
I hope cooler heads prevails but i still had that gut feeling.

They are mostly going to be doing carpet bombing with dumb bombs and mass artillery at this point. Their cruise missiles seem to have taken out Ukrainian ammo depots and logistics nodes at this point, so all that's left is to finish the troops trapped inside pockets and you don't need missiles for that.
