I would be surprised if these sanctions are EVER lifted. I think China and Russia (and maybe NK and Iran) may be religated to their own little world, in every sense of the word, while the rest of the world moves on.
Little World? How little do you think?

So you really think "they" can belittle Russia and China plus some others?

Btw how long is your time frame in setting this view? I am asking because We all need to see the effects and it takes some time to manifest itself. So it may matter of few months, half a year, a year or so. So what's your time frame of the "Little World"?

Please note video at 0.22 seconds.

Chinese Embassy not only evacuating Chinese nationals, but also their "Anglo-discriminated" Indian neighbor. Note the Indian flag in one of the evacuees in the video at 0.22 secs.z

That's exactly how a global power should behave, well done China.

I don't know, Indian social media seem to have gone pretty wild about this. We all know how powerful the Indian twitter army are :D

I never thought I'd find myself agreeing with a WION report, but

While Chinese media outlets are pretty neutral and ambivalent. India's are going full pro-Russia.

How long until we get a Bollywood film about a brave Indian student who fought off 200 Nazi Ukrainian border guards to get into Poland? :D

Here's a translation lesson for people who cannot understand American English, "the rest of the World" translates to "Just America"

I'm saying this is going to have lasting effects. I'm not saying China is being "punished". Just that the West is realizing it's not the friend they thought it was and will pull away accordingly. Russia? Yeah, they're a North Korea style pariah state.
Pull away how? Investments into China reached the highest levels even during the trade war. China is now a 18 trillion behemoth that runs half of ASEAN/Japan/Korea's economies. The US and Europe are facing record inflations and absolutely need Chinese goods. No way in hell western capital can pull away in any meaningful form.

De-dollarization's gonna be a bitch. This will play out like your trade war, but on a much greater scale.
What "trade war"? Our economy exploded while Trump was in office. Brandon reversed many of Trumps policies and is doing his best to take us right down the toilet. As for "de-dollarization" yeah, the Other World will probably center on the renminbi and the rest of the world will keep using the dollar. Or maybe in two months everything is back to mostly normal. Who knows. I think it will be something closer to the former however. Cold War 2.

I've always thought of India as kind of like Gollum in the Lord of the Rings series - a wretched creature, but they still have a role to play yet.

This is honestly one of the most naive comments I've ever read on this forum. The last time the US considered China a "friend" was in the latter stages of the Cold War, and that "friendship" is best summed up by following conversation from the classic American movie Red Dawn:

Jed Eckert:
Well, who *is* on our side?

Col. Andy Tanner:
Six hundred million screamin' Chinamen.

Darryl Bates:
Well, last I heard, there were a billion screamin' Chinamen.

Col. Andy Tanner:
There were.
