People who are talking bs about how great or normal life in Russia is going to be after this invasion are simply retarded, sorry for the foul language. I will gladly exchange places with people who really think that way but I am pretty sure you will rather keep living in China, US, UK or whatever country you reside in rather than move in to Russia, right? You don't want to bear the consequences because you deep down understand that behind all the bravado the blow to Russian economy is going to be devastating.

We are going to see rouble crashing down further, banking system crumbling, full tech embargo, trade evaporating, and political isolation - QoL will drop drastically. There was nothing genius about Putin's move, it was pure desperation and the result of Russia not having enough clout to solve the problems otherwise. Stop sucking his cock for a moment, and look at situation objectively - he sacrificed average citizen for geopolitical objectives, that's it. Whether you consider these geopolitical goals worthy enough is up to you.
Do you really think it's wise for the west to punish Russia that strongly? If at any point he felt under threat he could dispense bucketloads of instant sunshine across all of the west.

We've been in this situation lots of times in the cold war. The only logical option is de-escalation.

If Russia is banned from SWIFT and its Central Bank loses liquidity over its $600 B reserves, then it won’t be able to maintain the Rouble as it goes into free fall and hyperinflation. This is the type of situation that can destroy Russia’s economy and topple the government.
From what i heard SWIFT is just a global message system, Russia gets banned they might just directly message with the EU using INSTEX message system they build for Iran trade.

China won't be enough to fully replace the lost trade plus it is not easy to divert current supplies to China because European gas is pumped off Western Siberia and the only way to get from it to China is through Central Asian pipe system which is already loaded with gas & oil from CA countries.

You've had 10 years to build more pipelines but you didn't because you thought you could get higher prices from Europe.

Well, as they say, better late than never!

Guess it's legit then... I'm thinking Ukrainian side probably have arty spotter all over the place among civilians, this will make even low tech artillery extremely effective.

My only question is how the hell are there surviving Ukrainian artillery.... but then again maybe I should ask how the hell are there surviving Ukrainian UAV/aircraft first.... Mind boggling

One after the other video is being released showing Russian equipment either destroyed, trashed or abandoned. How long can they sustain this? This is utter madness.

I'm wholly surprised by both sides, the sheer incompetence of the Russians and the brave resistance of the Ukrainians.
Maybe because is twitter and people post things to make one side make look good and other side look bad, to create an alternative reality to feel themselves better about an horrible situation. The fact on the ground is that Ukraine is doomed, that situation is getting from bad to worse.

Agreed. RuAF is MIA and a complete joke.

Putin is just throwing lives now at a meat grinder.

If Zelensky keeps seeing videos like this, then Ukraine will never negotiate, cause they will feel like they might actually win.
