Imagine being President Xi Jinping right now. A couple of days after talking with Biden on cooperating in shared challenges and global issues:

It is revealed that the Taiwan name change proposal is being considered by the US.

More trade tariffs to be put against Chinese
products are also considered.

And today, we had a new cold war alliance forming up.

If this is not the biggest betrayal of Biden and his administration, then I dont know what it is. Xi (+ the whole Chinese Gov) should just delete the phone numbers of all US officials.

I ask you, is there any reason for any Chinese official to talk to a US official when it shown that their top leader is constantly mocking China? No reason at all. Disconnect the phone and let the US blindly navigate in the world. It is the biggest danger to yourself if you negotiate with a non-credible person who doesn't keep his words

Nobody forced Xi to take the call. if CN intel were doing their job, Xi should already know about this tech sharing agreement.

You know what I really marvel at? The exquisite skill with which the Anglo manipulates public opinion. You've already bought all the goods he wants to sell you: that this is a "new" alliance. What's new about it? And since when is selling submarines at an eye-watering markup considered an "I'll die in the trenches with you" alliance?

And for a something to be a betrayal there has to have been some expectation of faithfulness. Do you think China expects any faithfulness or has any trust in the US government?

But by all means, let's keep discussing this "new" alliance for the next few pages, and let's run around like chickens with their heads cut off every time Biden gets in front of a camera.

Biden's recent actions completely destroyed any credibility he had left. There is an almost 0 chance that from now on, China will even bother listening at him or his lower level officials. At least before, China was willing to have some meetings and listen to US delusional proposals

I don't see why not have meeting with US. It does not mean China kowtow to US It is more to do with showing the world that China is reasonable and strive for peace. In other world has high moral ground. I don't think China under any illusion as to the hostile intent of the west to stunt her growth or even to deal with it before she goes too strong

The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) on Wednesday started nationwide exercises involving all units for the first time in nearly 30 years in an attempt to boost deterrence and strengthen its capabilities. Japanese media said such a massive move is to deal with "China's ramped-up regional assertiveness." But Chinese experts noted that Japan is trying to display its hard power to serve the US Indo-Pacific strategy to contain China militarily.

But Chinese military experts warned that Japan does not have the ability to deter China in a military conflict over China's territories like the Diaoyu Islands and the island of Taiwan, and a military conflict with China will bring destructive consequences to the country.

Right-wing political forces in Japan have been lying to the Japanese public about the essence of the Diaoyu Islands issue and Taiwan question. Now the Japanese public holds unreasonable hostility and bias against China, and this is why the massive drills targeting China could win support for Japanese politicians. But to what extent Japan would intervene militarily, the US has the final say, analysts said, adding that China is prepared for the worst-case scenario - the US and its allies, including Japan, launch an all-out military intervention to interrupt China's national reunification.

The JGSDF Exercise '21, scheduled from Wednesday to the second half of November, was organized to strengthen the JGSDF's deterrence and response capabilities by ensuring JGSDF's readiness towards threats to Japan, the JGSDF said in press releases last week.
